Paraw Regatta miniature making contest winners bared

In promotion of the annual Paraw Regatta events as one of Iloilo City 's most revered activities, the winners of the Paraw Miniature making contest were bared in the evening of February 17, 2005 at the SM City Activity Center. Out of the 25 Paraw miniature entries, three artists emerged as top three winners and while six others received consolation prizes.

The victorious top three were: Ritche Baylon (First place) of Brgy. Bolilao, Iloilo City who used scrap objects and recyclable materials for his entry, Jansen Felimon (Second place) of Dela Rama Compound who creatively transformed Abaca string, old CDs and centavo coins into a wonderful Paraw miniature and Ricky Octaviano (Third place) of Zulueta St., Oton artistically made his Paraw entry out of nylon string, coco pandan cloth and wood.

The other consolation prize victors were James Mark Salarda, Angelo Edencio, Richie Condesa, Nil Capinianes, Arthur Jusa and Edmar Colmo. Top three winners received P8,000, P5,000 and P3,000 cash prizes while consolation winners got P1,000 each. The judging of the Paraw miniature entries were done from February 15 to 17, 2005 .

This one-of-kind event was made possible through the noble effort of Metro Iloilo Dinagyang Jaycees, SM City Iloilo and Philippine Institute of Architects-Iloilo Section.
