'Notorious' police character strikes anew, kills tanod in Antique

Antique police are now on the look-out for a murder suspect who has since gained notoriety in the Municipality of San Remegio and nearby Antique towns. This, after his recent 'killing spree' that took the life of a local barangay tanod.

The victim, Reynaldo Candido of Barangay Tunuan, Bugasong, Antique was stabbed in the chest by his assailant identified by authorities as a certain Tito Cordero. The News Today gathered from sources in the area that the killing occurred minutes after Candido was seen to have approached Cordero. A brief altercation ensued with the said barangay tanod thereafer attacked.

Witnesses tried to aid the victim as help was sought from barangay officials and the police. Efforts to revive him failed with the chest injury proving to be fatal. The suspect remains at large as of presstime.

Meanwhile, a longtime Antique fugitive was recently killed by his own shotgun.

In what could be a case of poetic justice, Antique police finally caught up with a longtime fugitive who has since escaped Antique Rehabilitation Center (ARC) for over ten years.

This, after a call was made on a supposed shooting incident responded to by elements of the Valderrama Police. The victim turned out to be 38 year-old Toto Rico of Barangay Cansilayan of said town. He has apparently evaded recapture in a decade of continued search for him by guards of the ARC.

In a report, The News Today learned that Rico got shot by his homemade shotgun while heading for home. He was reportedly heavily intoxicated that led probers to believe that caused the freak accident. Rico sustained gunshot wounds in the leg and said to have suffered from massive blood loss that caused his death.
