Operation: St. Bernard
JCI Iloilo Ilang-Ilang and The News Today answering the cry for help
After that fateful event last February 18, 2006 in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte where many perished due to a landslide, the JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang was quick to plan a relief goods drive for the victims, but what can an all women chapter do in order to reach out to as many Ilonggos to participate in the drive in so short a time! Luckily we have a media partner in the face of The News Today which is now becoming a breakfast staple in every household in Iloilo. 
The able and dynamic Ms. Marichel Teves-Magalona the marketing head of The News Today wasted no time and sit down with the equally driven president of JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang JCI Mem Faye Marie Piano to launch OPERATION: ST BERNARD, it was a project with the sole purpose of collecting relief goods for the mudslide victims, a call to all Ilonggos that even far away from it all, a show of kindness would make a difference, it may not bring back the lost lives but it would definitely help rebuild the survivors' lives. The project was a success, in just a short time we had collected one truckload of relief goods and it would not be possible if not for the kind hearted individuals and organizations who donated in their own simple way and for that we thank you...

To JCI Mem Bea Jarantilla for braving the rocky, muddy road and rains to go to St. Bernard in behalf of her chapter JCI Iloilo Ilang-Ilang to deliver the relief goods.
