THE FULLNESS OF LIFE
The Ultimate Seven: Fundamental principles of a God-centered life (9th of a Series)
6. GOD SAVES.
The desire to get out of trouble or to escape death and harm; and especially, the desire to be saved, that is from sin, from death, or from any threat to the integrity of our being -- such a desire or tendency is a primordial and universal instinct which is built into the human nature. Basically, it is the fear of death. It is fundamentally also an affirmation of life and the wholeness and integrity of the human person. It is for this reason that we need a Savior. Collectively and individually, we need a Savior. Considering the complexity of the human situation and the sublime dignity of every human person, only God can bring about our integral and eternal salvation.
Thus, Holy Scripture tells us:
"Yes, God do loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him may not die but may have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but the world might be saved through him."
(John 3:16-17)
