A double celebration for the Prince

Iloilo's Prince of Fashion, Mandy Salcedo, celebrated his birthday with a bang with the opening of his new eponymous atelier at E. Lopez Street corner San Vicente, Jaro Iloilo City last February 9, 2007. The nostalgic night started with a cocktail party at 6:00 pm and was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony done by Hon. Jed Mabilog, Liberty Valderama, Susan Wang, Susie Facultad, Linda Hoblitzel, Mafelou Agriam and Tweety Tupas-Balleza.
At 9:00 pm, guests and people within the vicinity gathered for a fashion show which featured Mandy Salcedo's prolific talent as depicted in his club wear, after 6 and formal wear collections. Bouquet of flowers were offered by Tweety Balleza, Linda Holblitzel and Mandy's niece and Board Member Geneda Salcedo.

It was indeed a night of infinite style and unparalleled elegance. In fact, the show literally caused a traffic jam in the area which alarmed police officers, who also came to witness the glorious event which featured not only the hottest fashion must-haves this season; as well as seven lovely female models and seven astounding hunks. It was the first ever fashion show done in this area and the people of San Vicente were both proud and overwhelmed.

Mandy's nephew Jay Garrovillo, who also directed the fashion show, prepared a surprise number wherein 9 of Mandy's friends -- Linda Hoblitzel, Joeboy Agriam, Susan Wang, businesswoman Janette Jastia, Liberty Valderama, star model Winsze Tang, Mark Batuigas, Nemia Pollock and Mandy's elementary teacher Restituto Pasomanero -- individually uttered their wishes with their respective balloons. For goodluck purposes, the nine special guests let go of the balloons after the brief program. It is believed that nine (9) is the best day to open a business.
The show was well-attended by Mandy's friends and relatives. Mandy's neices Rachel Abaldonado, Ruby Gapasin, Lourdes Gapasn and Roselyn Concel graced the occasion. Mandy's proud parents, Mandit and Pilar Salcedo , were also present to show their support. Jaro Fiesta 3rd Princess Angeli Ong came with her parents, Mr. Eduardo Ong and Dr. Eva Ong. Kathy Villalon, Mrs. Lydia Jardleza, Dr. Joclyn Te and Mr. Te, Mrs. Grace de Asis with her daughter Kate and son Kevin, Brgy. Capt. Aurora Divinagracia, and Tess Catalona came to party with the Prince.
