IYO, a promising orchestra
IYO members are getting ready for the real thing
* A rather diverse repertoire ranging from Suzuki violin method and classical music standards such as Beethoven's "Ode to Joy", Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" and selections from Mozart's opera, "The Magic Flute" as well as contemporary songs, ethnic and folk music have been performed by the Iloilo Youth Orchestra
Even before the Iloilo Youth Orchestra was officially incorporated, it was already able to take part in a major production such as an opera. This opera entitled "Mozart's "Magic Fantasy--A Journey through the Magic Flute" was officially endorsed and financially sponsored in part by Austrian Embassy in the Philippines from November 25-30, 2006 at St. Anne's Hall, Assumption School. There were also several performances played by this orchestral group at SM City, SM Delgado and Robinson's mall, all within Iloilo City.
Today, this non-profit, non-stock organization newly and duly incorporated under Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is enjoying acceptance and attention among the Ilonggo community. Suffice to say, it has now made quite a favorable reputation to Iloilo's music scene.

There is always a time for play and this time,
rest for a little
Not only did the IYO have all these remarkable performances but it has also organized other activities like the Art Workshop given by IYO's Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.), Yannie Rose Noble, an esteemed local artist and a Fine Arts college instructor of the University of San Agustin. This art workshop was attended by IYO members at the IYO office grounds on April 30, 2007. A rummage sale followed as a fundraising activity on June 2, 2007.
