PICPA-Iloilo celebrates Accountancy Week

The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Iloilo Chapter celebrated its annual Accountancy Week last month. Those who joined were different Accounting students coming from schools like the Central Philippine University, University of the Philippines in the Visayas, University of San Agustin, University of Iloilo, Western Institute of Technology and Saint Paul University Iloilo. Also, CPAs from different sectors like ACPAE, ACPAPP, ACPACI and GACPA, joined.

This annual affair serves as a venue for the students to develop camaraderie and fellowship. It promotes a healthy and fair competition and gives students a learning experience outside of the classroom.
The winners in the academic events were:

Practical Accounting -- Nestor Fernandez, first place; Nina Faith Presto of CPU, second; and Josilda Genilza, third place from CPU.
Business Law and Taxation -- Jonnavie Soriano, first place from CPU; Jay Aster Lastimoso, 2nd place from UPV; and Karen Fortaleza, 3rd place from CPU.
