Wanted banana planters
The government officials concerned simply ignore the deplorable condition of most of the city's roads. Perhaps it is better to have those pothole-ridden roads planted with bananas just like what happened to an unattended road in Brgy. Cagbang, Oton before. What do you think Engr. Sales?
(Un)like father, (un)like son
It was only during the time of then Congressman now Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez Sr. that the city's roads underwent major facelift courtesy of asphalt overlaying. The older Gonzalez's project was tainted with irregularity but at least the city roads were repaired. On the contrary Gonzalez's son, now the city's Congressman, has done nothing to improve the city's road conditions (despite the fact that he is already on his second term). The people of the city actually do not know of any project from the younger Gonzalez since he assumed as congressman. Save for his presence in some occasions where he is invited as guest speaker, Congressman Jun-Jun is seldom heard or seen in the city. Indi bala Gilbert?
Trisikads are back
Yes, the trisikads(we are referring to those that were "eliminated" by Kagawad Plagata recently) are back in downtown Iloilo City. As expected Plagata failed to sustain the drive towards clearing the city streets of obstructions. Moreover, private vehicles are back in Iznart Street using both sides of the road as parking area. "Isa man lang gali ka bulan pwersa ni kagawad," says a barber at Ledesma Street. Well, what do we expect? There are several other city ordinances left unimplemented, or if not, are having "on and off" or "seasonal" implementation like the Anti-Smoking Ordinance, Anti-Jaywalking Ordinance, Anti-Littering, etc. What do you think Jam?
