AFP on Panay-Negros 'Mendiola massacre' commemoration: 'Staged plays' by local communist cadres
Political rallies and similar street protests set to be launched by militant groups today are all staged and supervised "from a distance" by top communist political cadres. With expected mobilization in both Panay and Negros islands, the statement was made by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) here saying it would also be a "display of "hallucinating issue-agitation propaganda."
The local rallies are all geared towards remembering the Mendiola massacre some 21 years ago where 13 farmers lost their lives in Manila.
And it would be "hakot crowd," the AFP through Captain Lowen Gil Marquez said while downplaying the hyped-up sentiments of the rallyists.
"The Mendiola massacre will be commemorated by some other militant individuals… they must think first and always what the positive outcome of the rallies are... they must also police their ranks," Captain Marquez, commanding officer of the AFP's 3rd Civil Relations Group said.
In Panay, the AFP said the rallies will be conducted "under closed supervision of the Panay terrorist Communist Party of the Philippines – New People's Army- National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF)." Specific instructions will reportedly be relayed "on what to be done to agitate the other blind militant activists."
"In the Island of Negros, the rallies to be conducted by some other militant and activist group under the front organizations of the terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF will be supervised by the Negros Party Terrorist Committee," the AFP statement ended.
