The queen of the Jaro Agro-industrial Fair 2008 and her court were formally introduced to the public during the opening of the said fair last Jan. 20, 2008 at the Jaro Plaza.
This year's queen is Andrea Aileen Marie Vinco Montelibano. She is the eldest daughter of Leandro Fernando "Andy" Montelibano and Asuncion "Sonnie" Vinco of Negros Occidental. She is the great granddaughter of the former Vice President of the Philippines, Fernando H. Lopez. She works as Foreign Exchange Broker at the Tullett Prebon Philippines, in Manila.
Her escort is Mark Villar, the elder brother of Camille Villar, last year's Jaro queen and the daughter of Senator Manuel Villar and Rep. Cynthia Villar.
Meanwhile, the princesses and their escorts are Corrie Dahren Porras and Ivan Anthony Cabrera, Geline Antoinette Cabrera and Willyn John Indiano, Joanna Hope Bellosillo and Benedict Joseph Balagtas, and Quina Marie Baterna and Jacob Joseph Jamili.
Also at the parade were the queen, princesses and escorts for the Children's Charity Ball, muses, escorts, faculty, cadets and drum and bugle corps of Jaro elementary and high schools.
After the parade, the already buzzling Jaro Plaza became more festive. The area is a haven of affordable great finds like clothes, potteries, flowers, plants, utilities for the home and food, among others.
The Jaro Agro-industrial Fair 2008 is being handled by the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) of Jaro, headed by Kgd. Violeta Diamante.
