KMV: What are your hobbies?
KF: Traveling, dancing, singing, shopping and photography
KMV: Are you engaged in sports?
KF: Yes. Skiing, white water rafting, sea kayaking, ice skating, volleyball and basketball
KMV: How did you happen to land in your present job?
KF: After college, I applied for jobs in New York City, Chicago and Seattle. They were the ideal places I wanted to live after college. I got pretty lucky to get an interview back in October 2005 with one of the most prestigus companies in the world - The Boeing Company. January 2006, I left my hometown and moved to Seattle to work for Boeing.
KMV: In what division of Boeing are you a part of?
In Chicago
KF: The TCS Finance Alteon Training, Commercial Aviation Services. TCS stands for Technical Customer Service and they are a division under Commercial Aviation Services. And how that fits into Boeing is anything that we can do to support the customer. So if the customer has some technical issues, in need of spare parts, or any other products or services when and where they're needed. As part of TCS Finance, my group supports another area called Flight Operations Support and Training (FOST). They take care of anything to do with training. They create the training materials and documents in order to fly the plane. FOST works side by side with Alteon Training and they are the subsidary of Boeing. They own all the simulators and they conduct the training.
KMV: How does your position as business analyst fit into TCS Finance?
With the Boeing plane at the background
KF: In FOST there are five different groups that we support. I support two of the groups - Media Services (creates multimedia and interactive training materials) and Seattle Training Center (business operations and customer support for airline customer training). For those groups I do financial reporting and resource planning. I am also starting to be a financial support a specialized area that looks over all the groups called Fleet Support (support to airline companies required to sustain their airplane). So all of our reports is rolled up into a higher level and is reported out on how the business is doing overall in spending.
KMV: What's your dream job?
KF: My dream job would be as a management consultant being able to travel and work with customers internationally. I'm also insterested in working in the marketing sector doing market research and seeing what is most important for the customers.
KMV: How's it like working for Boeing?
KF: Working for Boeing is definitely a privilege. I am able to create a flexible schedule where I can have a work and life balance. Also the company is so big that I am able to meet many people my age and able to create the group of friends that I have now.
KMV: How about life in the United States on a personal level?
KF: Unfortunately I do not have any family here with me, so my friends here are my family. A challenge for me is finally living on my own and paying for the bills and being responsible. A perk is that you can create your own schedule and don't always report to the parents.
KMV: What's your favorite cities in the US?
KF: Besides my hometown Chicago, I enjoy New York City and San Diego.
KMV: Favorite spots there?

KMV: What's a typical corporate get-up for you?
KF: With Boeing having a casual working environment, we can wear anything from jeans and a T-shirt to business suits. I usually like to wear slacks, a button down shirt and a sweater (it's always cold in the office!)
KMV: What's your typical casual get-up?
