Cleansing on Lenten Season
People of all walks of life, Christians and non-Christians religiously observe the Lenten Season. They go to the extent of offering themselves to hang on the cross, crawl over several meters from the corner road to the church; have themselves beaten/plugged on the firm belief that by so doing their sins are forgiven thee. Sinners are the more obvious in their outward motive to reverence God probably for the atonement of their sins and filthy living. The so-called "holy" Christians do the ritual out of reverence to God Almighty. From Holy Monday to Easter Sunday, thousands are frequenting the church day and night and join the religious procession. Confess their sins and do all the religious rituals during the observation of the Holy Week.
It is good to be holy during the Lenten season and this practice should continue the whole year round and up to eternity.
Satan is always around to tempt the Christians and test the faithful and loyal to Jesus Christ. Satan loves the unrepenting people and he has no problem with them. Many people are not aware that when they commit sin, Satan is happy about it. God wants His children to be strong in their faith and pray. Holiness and righteousness come from God. God is righteous and the only holy one, no not one. If one remains righteous till the end of time on this earth, and his name is written in the Book of Life, Surely, according to Holy Scripture, his reward is in heaven, the eternal life. Christians should present themselves unblemished before God. Jesus said in Matthew 19:18, "Which ones? You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness." The Lenten period is a chance for the unjust, thieves, false testifiers, and liars to meditate on the Word of God. Revelation 22:11, "He who is unjust, let him unjust still; he which is filthy, let him filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him righteous still; and that is holy, let him holy still."
Though our sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Repent our sins and God is just and faithful to forgive our sins. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Let's seriously recall the sufferings Jesus Christ underwent at the cross for the forgiveness of mankind's sins. Let's be righteous till Jesus Christ comes which is very near. If only the people of the world will follow the teachings of Christ, the earth will be a happy place to live in. But God has prepared mansions in heaven for His people. Be counted with Christ and you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Amen, Amen and Amen!
