Sexy Moms: Seven mothers view for 'Sexy Nanay' title
Kenneth Garingo serenades the candidates
One of the ways to celebrate motherhood is to take part in an activity that showcases mothers and see that they are smart, talented and devoted 'nanays' as always. One event is the Sexy Nanay 2008 held at the Barangay Balantang gym last month in line with the village's annual feast.
Seven mothers vied for the Sexy Nanay title through competitions in talent, gown, sportswear, casual wear, production number and interview.
The contestants were asked about their ideas in relation to motherhood. Some of the judges' questions were: In what way can you become a better mother?, What are the qualities of a 'sexy nanay'?, "What are the challenges faced by a mother?" and "In what way can a mother contribute to the society?"

From that competition, I've learned that the experiences of mothers are basically the same. There is that concern for how they can properly bring up their children, how she battles a husband's infidelity or his shortcomings, how to help her spouse in making both ends meet, and more.
Vice Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Councilor Lex Tupas graced the event, too. They cited the importance of a mother in uplifting a community. They also lauded the Barangay Balantang officials for a successful holding of such activity.
The barangay tanods, who just finished their three-day seminar, were also given cerificates that evening.
