Career Alternatives
JCI Iloilo members with high school students
Shifting courses can be a drain to parents who are sending their kids to college. That's why it's important for graduating high school students to know what career they really want to venture into. This way, they could choose the course that could prepare them for such career.
In order to give students a glimpse of some alternative careers, Councilor Nielex Tupas launched LEX ACP (Labor Exchange Experience – Alternative Career Program).
Several resource persons were invited to speak before them last March 17, 2008 at the Iloilo City Social Hall. The speakers and their topics were Mayor Ronaldo Golez of Dumangas, politics; Kathy Villalon of the News Today, journalism; Genecio Woo, entrepreneurship; Eric de los Santos, fashion designing; P/Supt. Ranulfo Demiar, police; Jose Felipe Villanueva, music artist; Charlene Belvis, broadcasting; Dennis Dumosdos, broadcasting; Jonathan Gellangarin, broadcasting; Oscar Nava Jr., independent filmmaking; and Jose Ramlo Villanueva, food.
