Behind every beautiful face and skin are years of positive attitude, of laughter, pampering through treatments and use of bankable beauty products and persons who make sure that every individual achieves this. She started her career with Mary Kay in 2001 as an Independent Beauty Consultant. She's a consistent achiever and credible mentor. She has provided trainings in hundreds of corporations' training programs and seminar activities participated by women and men. She's a Bulaceña, who upon staying in Iloilo City since 2005, has moved Ilonggos to beautiful heights.

Kathy M. Villalon (KMV): Do you love being with Mary Kay?
Flor Dobbyn (FD): Yes. I'm not here just for the money but for the love of training. My strength is here. It's nice to see people start from scratch and see them develop.
KMV: What does your training program include?
FD: I major on providing workshops on skin care and skin care entrepreneurship but I also provide other modules such as power dressing, personality development, ethics and stress management among others. I develop my own training modules.
KMV: Since Mary Kay is about beauty and skin care, how do you take care of your skin?
FD: You know what, I grew up not knowing anything about skin care though I am very good in applying color makeup. It was when I turned 35 and my skin started to show the years of neglect, like eye bags and wrinkles. I had skin peeling but in less than a month, I had pigments. I used creams and it got worse. So, I stopped. Then, I discovered Mary Kay.
KMV: Is Mary Kay part of your beauty regimen?
FD: Yes. I use Mary Kay Pure White Cleanser, Blemish Control Toner, bi-weekly use of Pure White Mask to treat the pigments, Botanical Moisturizer Formula 3 and Tinted Moisturizer which is foundation, moisturizer and sun block in one. I wash my face. I also drink lots of water, which is the cheapest way to moisturize one's skin. I used to get lots of sleep, too, until I had a wonderful Baby boy who keeps me up at night.

KMV: What's your baby's name?
FD: Audrei Cyrenius.
KMV: You're married to an American?
FD: Yes, to Brian Russell Dobbyn. He works as a computer scientist for US NAVO and he resides in Mississippi. He comes to the Philippines three times a year and stays longer if ever he does.
KMV: Does he plan to retire here?
FD: My husband loves the Philippines so much. If he could retire now, he would and Iloilo is part of the retirement plan.
KMV: How are you as a wife?
FD: Overindulging especially to a husband who is always away. My husband loves to eat and I cook for him and I personally attend to his every need when he's here.
KMV: How are you as a mother?
FD: Very nurturing. I have the tendency to give everything but I manage to be strict. My son understands the words "negotiable" and "non-negotiable."

KMV: What's your personality like?
FD: Daring and compassionate. I am a person of extremes. They call me the "dragon lady with a soft heart." In errors, I deal with the situation, not the person. Also, I'd rather be the one giving than asking. I love the opportunity to be able to extend help from my own resources in times of legitimate needs.
KMV: What are your hobbies?
FD: I love to read books like those of John Maxwell, Jim Rohn, Peter Daniels and Zig Ziglar, businessmen Christian books and Mary Kay books.
KMV: Do you advocate women's rights?
FD: Yes in certain ways. Like, a woman should do what's best for her. For example, the boyfriend asks you not to put on makeup. Why? I think respect keeps a relationship better than love. There should be mutual respect in all aspects.

KMV: Have Ilonggas accepted Mary Kay?
FD: Yes, as long as the details are explained well to them. Here, they will get the worth of their investment. Mary Kay has good products and we follow through the customer, it's like walking through with them once they started using the products. I have developed great friendship in IloIlo because of my Mary Kay business.
KMV: What ethics do you value most?
FD: Integrity. Any endeavor is destroyed if there is no integrity.
KMV: Do you get to travel because of your work?
FD: Yes. I travel every week in Bacolod, and Cebu and Antique from time to time. I am currently expanding in Bacolod.
KMV: How do you manage your time?
FD: That's the beauty of a home business because I get to enjoy many things and my time's flexible. My baby gets to see my everyday. Before 8 am, we play. Then, I spend time for my devotion. Work starts at 9 am and ends at 6 pm. After that, I watch TV and surf the Internet to research on stuff for my personal development.
KMV: How would you like to be remembered?
FD: As someone who contributed to boosting a person's self confidence. I see a lot of educated, rich and beautiful women who have low self-esteem based on the choices they make. I would like to see those with limited income to go up the ladder of success. That's my "Mary Kay Mission".
