Capiz Task Force on Environmental Protection chaired by Board Member Rommel Lastimoso led the tree planting of some 3,000 seedlings of different species of trees along the riverbanks of Paslang River in Barangays Salucon and Bahit in Panitan. This year's theme is "Let's Cool the Earth! Plant/Grow Trees for Legacy." The areas are near the P710 million treatment plant of Metro Roxas Water District (MRWD).
Lastimoso, also chairman of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources at the Capiz provincial board, was accompanied by various agencies such as the Department of Agrarian Reform, Roxas City Fire Department, Philippine National Police, Capiz 1st Engineering District, Philippine Coast Guard, MRWD, Municipality of Panitan, and other multi-sectoral groups.

Panitan Mayor Katherine "Kit" Dequina-Belo and MRWD General Manager Pablo Bercilla joined the activity. Also at the ceremonial tree planting are Roxas City Fire Marshall Pancho de la Cruz, James Cabag, Jr, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) manager, Engr. Julius Abela (DPWH), Carlette Caldeo (DAR), Gerby Dellava (DOST).
