Roxas City shined its brightest recently when enterprising and and well-liked dynamic couple Antonio "Tony" and Cora Gamboa-Ortiz, owners of the impressive San Antonio Resort-Village and Casa Felisa held the opening of the resort's latest amenity, a beautifully designed infinity swimming pool beside a man-made lagoon. Done to perfection by the talented and much sought after architect, Jomarie Yao, this pool is a dream design of Tony Ortiz who is now taking the city into the next level of resort pleasure and leisure, The picture perfect swimming pool with its huge fish fountains and its colonnade pathway is perhaps the most beautiful in the island of Panay.

Making the event more memorable was another celebration, the birthday party of Tony, which I heard he only celebrates once in a blue moon. The poolside party mood was of restraint decadence but oozing with upper crust civility, typical of the city's genteel old guard fashion. Every one who is somebody was there to greet Tony a happy birthday and to congratulate him and his family for making San Antonio Resort Village the best of its kind. Present were his children Mark, John with wife Pearlie, Thursday with husband Patrick Honrado, Joy and husband Francis Ignacio.
San Antonio Resort-Village is just a mere 20-minute walk from Roxas City airport;, it lies nestled across the beach shores of the seaside village of Baybay, Roxas City. This is the 15th largest natural bay in the world and was adjudged as the cleanest coastline in the Philippines for 2002. It is a private boutique village located in 40 hectares of lush verdant natural-park, which offers eight to 12 tropical villas luxuriously designed by renowned architects of well-known conglomerates in cosmopolitan Manila and Boracay and with inspirations from foreign and exotic architectures.
