Police Chief Inspector Ramir Gallardo, a drug buster!
Police visibility is considered as among the effective strategies to deter crimes. With that, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani Cuevas regularly reminds chiefs of police and unit commanders to strictly observe the 7-9-7 duty shifts of their field personnel. The new duty scheme replaced the old practice of "one-day duty, two-day off' or "one-week duty, one-week off" which adversely affected police operations. The 7-9-7 duty scheme ensures the availability of more police personnel in stations to conduct regular operations, like patrolling, and respond to emergencies.
But, with due exception of some police stations, Cuevas' 7-9-7 duty shift policy simply fell on deaf ears. Many police stations, especially in the far-flung municipalities, are still unmindful of the standing order. The reasons could be that these towns are relatively very peaceful with very low crime incidence and chiefs of police don't see fit for its personnel the new duty scheme. Another reason could be that "surprise" inspection by officers coming from regional or provincial headquarters are not surprising at all for they send a message a day prior the conduct of such. Hence, should it be the case, it would really be impossible for the inspectors to know whether or not the policies of the PNP Chief or the Regional Directors are religiously adhered to.
Thus, Chief Superintendent Cuevas must review his monitoring procedures to see the "real thing" in the fields.

The anti-illegal drug campaign of the Police Regional Office 6 is gaining good statistics with the string of successful drug operations by the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (RAIDSOG).
RAIDSOG is a brainchild of Police Chief Superintendent Isagani Cuevas..
On Monday (Nov. 10), RAIDSOG added to the litany of its accomplishments the arrest of Rolly Horario, an alleged drug pusher, of Zone 3, Brgy Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City . Police operatives recovered several sachets of suspected shabu and bricks of marijuana from the suspect.
With a minimum of three positive buy-bust operations a month, RAIDSOG Chief, Police Chief Inspector Ramir Gallardo, has indeed proven its worth to the trust and confidence of Cuevas who designated him to the position.
Of course, Gallardo did not do it all alone. His gallant and hardworking personnel similarly deserve our congratulations for the job well done.
Go RAIDSOG go!
