Saving Arevalo through art
‘Magsasaka’ by Tito Nobleza.
When the name “Arevalo” is mentioned, seafood and the cool breeze of sea air come to mind. It is also noted for its flower industry and cultural heritage, being the venue of the yearly Paraw Regatta.
In an effort to bring back the glory of Arevalo plaza, a group called For The Love of La Villa Arevalo Rica de Arevalo organized an art exhibit at the Camina House, 20 Osmena Street, Arevalo (beside the Sinamay House).
Fifty percent of the proceeds of the visual art pieces there will be used for Arevalo’s rehabilitation.
The artists featured were Joe Amora, Fred Orig, Mark Gonzales, Pierre Patricio, Edgar Gonzales, Larry Dumagat, Art Geroche, Jun Jun Duarte, Bal Cerbo, Tito Nobleza, Ramon delos Santos, Eduard Gonzaga, Ed Defensor and Robert Vargas.
‘Orchids sa Plaza’ by Lary Dumagat.
The exhibit’s title is “Hiyas sang Villa” and Dr. Juval Avellar is the president of For The Love of La Villa Arevalo Rica de Arevalo.
