Capiz now has 3 A(HIN1) cases
ROXAS CITY – Capiz province now has three victims of A(HINI) influenza flu after an eight-year old female who hails from Tapaz was found positive of the said illness.
The Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Alabang, Manila confirmed on Monday, June 29, that the laboratory tests conducted on the patient showed that she is positive of the A(H1N1) virus.
The said information was released by the Mr. Zoe Herrera, provincial administrator based on the RITM result taken from swab sample of the said patient.
Previously, there were two persons in Capiz found to be positive of A(H1N1) flu. The first one was a 38-year old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Singapore who is a native of Tapaz, Capiz and the latest is a 14-year old female who is studying in Iloilo City.
The second victim (name withheld) believed to have been infected with A(H1N1) virus from her dormmate at the dormitory in Iloilo City who came from Hong Kong.
Dr. Jarvis Punzalan, Provincial Health Officer, said that the14 year-old, who is a native of Roxas City, developed her symptom of flu and sore throat on June 16 and went home on July 18 in Roxas City.
He added that there are still three individuals taken with specimen who are under observation for showing symptoms of A(H1N1) virus.
Meanwhile, the 38-year old female OFW was able to go back in Singapore for her work since she already recovered from the illness.
