Charges up vs. father-son drug suspects in 307 grams shabu haul
Drug charges have been filed against two arrested suspects of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here following last week’s successful bust in Veterans Village, Iloilo City proper.
Charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 were father and son team, 50 year-old Arnel Maluto alias “Boy” and 26 year-old Junard Maluto alias “Budok.”
This, as laboratory results are expected on tests made with the recovered drugs, suspected Shabu or poor man’s cocaine.
With total estimated street value of P150,000, the latest PDEA haul also yielded a significant catch.
To note, PDEA lawyer Ronnie Delicana led the “raiding” team armed with Search Warrant No. 50-2009 issued by Branch 24 Presiding Judge Danilo Galvez.
In the presence of barangay officials and media counterpart, the PDEA and police operatives effected the easy search at the subject’s family home at Zone 6.
The recoveries included one (1) small plastic container containing sixty seven (67) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu and yet another one (1) small plastic container containing one hundred forty (140) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu. Further still, found by the team was one (1) piece big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, one (1) piece elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, one (1) red container containing twenty (28) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu among others.
And like previous PDEA haul, recoveries also included tooters, needles, weighing scale and “accessories” like MP5, a camera, watches in different brands and cash of 12 U.S. dollars and P22,010.
