Guara assumes as BCPO’s new OIC
BACOLOD CITY – Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas officially designated Senior Supt. Celestino Guara of Regional Headquarters Support Group (RHSG) as the new officer in charge of Bacolod City Police Office effective Tuesday, August 11, 2009.
Sr. Supt. Guara replaced Supt. Leo Irwin Agpangan, erstwhile OIC of BCPO.
Agpangan took-over the position after the relief of Sr. Supt. Ronilo Quebrar last February 16, 2009. The usual tour of duty of city and provincial police directors is only two years
Earlier, PRO-6 forwarded to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia the list of nominees for the next BCPO chief, namely, senior superintendents Agustin Molina, Bernardo Reamon Jr., Antonio Taylan Jr., Danilo Estapon and Louie Oppus.
Chief Supt. Cuevas however withdrew the list due to some circumstances.
Before his reassignment to PRO-6 Guara was the Chief of Police of Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Vicente Petierre III said officially their office has not received any information regarding the assumption to Guara to BCPO.
The city presumed it is part of PNP protocol as the assumption of Agpangan was already overdue.
“I think it was the decision of Camp Crame since the order as per report was only for Guara to sit as OIC,” Petierre said.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia has no comment yet on the matter after he went to Manila yesterday for Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) affair as Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Golez, Jr. was sworn-in to the party.
