4 Capiz mayoral bets took oath to support Villar
ROXAS CITY – Four mayoral candidates, one of whom is incumbent mayor, took their oath to support presidential aspirant Manny Villar of the Nacionalista Party (NP) at the residence of Cong. Ferjenel Biron in Iloilo last week.
A reliable source told The News Today (TNT) that the four mayorables are: Pilar incumbent Vice Mayor Sianong Patricio, President Roxas incumbent Mayor Rosauro Buenafe, former Pontevedra Mayor Jojie Avelino and lawyer Altas Catalan of Maayon, Capiz.
Vice Mayor Patricio is facing incumbent Pilar Mayor Rita Lyn Patricio of Liberal Party (LP); Buenafe is also running against Board Member Raymund Locsin in Pres. Roxas; Avelino versus Pontevedra incumbent Mayor Steve Contreras and Catalan is facing Vice Mayor Pedot Borres and Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Villamor Barruela of Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) in Maayon mayorship.
The same source said that Patricio, Catalan, Avelino and Buenafe were accompanied by some of their SB member bets during the oath taking.
He added that Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas and other allies also took their oath as well as mayoral bets from Antique before Villar.
The source said that Villar proceeded to Passi City to also conduct oath taking of political leaders and back to Manila to have conference with Mayor Eusebio of Pasig City.
