TESDA trained 3,499 scholars
SAN JOSE, Antique – A total of 3,499 scholars were trained by Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Antique under Pangulong Gloria Scholarship Program.
Marilyn Aguilar, Provincial Director said that the training programs of TESDA provided knowledge and skills to Antiqueños to become globally competitive especially in technical and vocational work.
Of the total enrollees in 2009, 2,695 have already graduated and the remaining 805 will be graduating this first quarter of 2010.
Since this is scholarship program, Aguilar said, TESDA has released a total of P91,400.00 to shoulder the educational needs of the scholars.
Among the courses offered in Advance Central College a partner school of TESDA are Commercial Cooking National Certificate (NC) II, Computer Hardware Servicing NC II and Food and Beverage Services NC II.
TESDA Provincial Training Center also offered Automotive Servicing NC I, Building and Wiring Installation NC II, Refrigeration Air Conditioning Servicing NC I, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and NC II.
Based on the assessment and evaluation conducted by TESDA, a total of 3,056 students were assessed and 2,212 have passed the examination and were given Certificates that will give them an advantage in applying for work here and abroad.
