27 Capiceño vendors get ‘Nego Karts’ from DOLE
Twenty-seven ambulant vendors in Capiz are beneficiaries of the “Negosyo sa Kariton” (Nego Kart) project from the Department of Labor and Employment.
DOLE Capiz Director Ricardo Monegro said the project aims to enhance the livelihood of the beneficiaries from the informal sector, specifically ambulant workers in major cities and towns nationwide.
Checks worth P98,000 and P112,000 for the 15 Nego Kart units were turned over last September 3 to Poblacion Tabuc and Poblacion Proper in Mambusao town, respectively, as accredited co-partners of the project.
Earlier, a check worth P144,000 for the 12 beneficiaries was also turned over to the Roxas City government.
The Nego-Kart project is among the DOLE’s Priority Projects for 2009 to 2010 which intends to upgrade the products and services of the vendors as well as their mobility to get more customers and buyers.*PIA
