CNHS organic ink project vies for 2010 NICE award
An entry of the Capiz National High School students has qualified for creative research in the high school category of the 2010 National Invention Contests and Exhibits (NICE) in November.
The CNHS student-qualifiers are Pamela Aya Bernarda, Karla Mae Magsipoc and Bernadette Anonoy, who worked on the alternative computer ink from indigenous materials.
“This alternative computer ink made from organic and biodegradable materials is easy to use in your inkjet printers, on injectable ink cartridge or refillable continuous flowing ink system,” said a Department of Science and Technology-Capiz briefer about the research.
The entry along with 12 other inventions and researches were selected to advance in the national level during the 2010 Visayas Islands Invention Contests and Exhibits (VIICE) held in Iloilo City last month.
Each qualifier received P10,000, plaque of recognition and trophy handed to them by DOST-Technology Application and Promotion and Institute Director Edgar Garcia and DOST 6 Director Rowen Gelonga during the closing rites.
The 2010 VIICE with the theme “Filipino Inventions and innovations: The Way Forward” served as a qualifying round for the 2010 NICE.*PIA
