Iloilo has 23-day buffer rice stock
The province of Iloilo right now has a buffer rice stock good for 23 days, according to the National Food Authority.
NFA Iloilo Manager Hedy Jardeleza said the 23-day buffer stock came from the 321,492 bags of palay and around 290,000 bags of rice stored in their warehouses and with the rice traders.
She said the buffer stock is computed based on the estimated daily consumption of the residents of Iloilo which is 21,000 bags.
With the sporadic harvest now in Iloilo, the NFA has assured consumers of enough rice supply as the agency is readying to procure palay from farmers.*PNA
