ON THE DOT

DOT sponsors Dinagyang 2005 PhotoCompetition

Enthusiasts of Iloilo Dinagyang can bring up to another level their appreciation of the festival by joining the DOT Iloilo Dinagyang 2005 Photo Competition. The competition is open to everyone and may have any subject matter related to any Iloilo Dinagyang 2005 tribes activities within the regulation January 14-23, 2005 photo taking period.

A participant is allowed a maximum of 5 entries for which entry fee of Php100 per entry shall be collected. All entries should be original works of the authors and color photographs printed on photographic emulsion paper. Disqualified from the contest are digitally manipulated photographs, those printed in inkjet printers and papers, and monochrome photographs like black-and-white, sepia toned, blue toned , etc.

Entries should be 8 inches x 10 inches in size. Cropping of images is allowed provided that the submitted images should have at least a side of either 8 inches or 10 inches.

The following are the prizes at stake:

• First Prize - Php 12,000.00 and plaque
• Second Prize - Php10,000.00 and plaque
• Third Prize - Php 8,000.00 and plaque
• Fourth Prize - Php 6,000.00 and plaque
• Fifth Prize - Php 5,000.00 and plaque
• 10 Honorable Mention - Php 1,000.00 and plaque each

Certificate of Acceptance shall be awarded to all entries accepted for exhibition while Certificate of Participation shall be given to all contestants.

Deadline for submission of entries shall be on January 31, 2005 while February 4, 2005 has been scheduled for judging of entries. The decision of appointed judges shall be final. The Department of Tourism Region VI will notify the winners on February 7, 2005 .

All exhibited entries shall become the property of the DOT Region VI which may use the subject photographs along with any partner or agent in any form of publicity without permission from the authors.

Winning entries shall become property of the Department of Tourism Region VI which may use the same for publicity purposes in any form of media including exhibition. Due credit will be given the photographer/s.
