A woman's worth and compassionate silhouette 

Few women exude unfading wit and brilliance that prevail in the arena of universal quest

for worth and integrity. One of them could be true blooded Filipina Joana Kapunan Parker, a 35-year old administrative director of Cumberland View, a Volkswagen company based in United Kingdom .

Parker is a daughter of an affluent Ilonggo father and a mother who hails from Davao . She has two siblings presently working abroad. She was educated since her elementary until her college years in the University of Central Lan , England but every year she always have the opportunity to visit her home country. She completed and accomplished her Master in International Business Law in United Kingdom .

Eight years ago she met her husband Mr. Ken Parker, a philanthropist chairman and owner of Cumberland View Volkswagen Company in UK .

Her undying and charitable heart for the poor, vulnerable and “underdogs” everywhere in the world, especially her fellow Filipinos suffering in the shadows of poverty and injustice, kept this brilliant woman's reverie to create change in her own noble way. Her husband never fails to send books and school supplies for the Filipino children in response to the need to improve our nation's educational system.

Parker was also affiliated and deeply dedicated to various charitable thrusts in OXFAM, Marie Curie Cancer Charity and other socio-civic international organizations where she proved her great concern for a world battered by cruelties, senseless violence and inequality.

For almost eight consecutive Christmas and New Year celebrations, Joana Parker and her husband Ken spent vacation at the world famous Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan . But even during their vacation these couple never ceases lending a hand to people in need.

Recently, the couple joined the gift-giving activity of Tamasak Jaycees for the Aeta community of Boracay . Upon learning of the sad plight of the Aeta community who are being driven away from their ancestral land by influential people, Joana Parker and her husband vowed to help them. The couple's noble concern for the unfortunate indigenous people of Boracay reflects sincerity in their heart. Indeed, there are still individuals who care for the others.

“If I become a high flying career woman!”

“When you finally achieve your dreams, you're healthy and truly happy with what you've achieved”

Silhouette 3: If you could turn back time what are the 3 things that you want to change in your life?

“Well, one, I could have pursued my career early in life which is a combination of high flying career and marriage. Second, I would love to spend time with friends I haven't seen for many years. Third, probably make proper decisions in my life”

Silhouette 4: What's wrong with the world today?

“Oh God! There's a lot of things I want to say but I guess the world is becoming more greedy, cruel and selfish like here in the Philippines where the poor are neglected and politicians remain corrupt”

Silhouette 5: What are the 3 things you like and 3 things you hate about the Philippines ?

“Oh yeah, I like the people, the culture and the beaches that makes this country blessed but I hate dishonest politicians, rich people who remain insensitive to the suffering of the poor and high rate of unemployment”

Silhouette 6: Since you lived most of your life in UK , what culture of the British people that you would want the Filipinos to adopt in order to gain change and progress?

“Well, the British people's culture of abiding the laws and rules of the state.   If Filipinos become law abiders then this nation would attain progress and prosperity”

Silhouette 7: What are the 3 things you can't live without?

“My toothpaste, toothbrush and of course food (laughs)”

Silhouette 8: If you were a book, what kind of book would you want to be?

“History and art books because they have priceless value for me”

Silhouette 9: If you were a world leader, what are the 3 most important law do you want to implement?

“There should be a law that pursues world peace like solving conflicts without getting engaged in senseless war, a law to eliminate the debts of the third world countries and   a law that provides   help to those countries affected by global famine”

“Friendship with simple people living in their own simple way and simple things that came from their heart”

Silhouette 11: What are your secrets to success?

“Secret? Nothing much… just be confident to yourself, trust God and yourself because nobody can do it for you!”
