Perez orders maximum security on Javier slay convicts

Antique Governor Salvacion Zaldivar -Perez has ordered maximum security on Evelio Javier murder case convict Eleazar Idemne following reports that Idemne had sneaked out of the Antique Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in December last year.

Idemne , reportedly, was spotted in Pototan , Iloilo on December 23, 2004 looking for a gun for hire to finish off Judge Rudy Castrojas of the Antique Regional Trial Court Branch 12.

Castrojas in October last year convicted Indemne and six other accused namely, Atty. Bob Javellana , John Paloy , Henry Seguera , Vicente Vegafria , Ramon Hortillano , and Henry Salaver of killing Governor Evelio Javier in 1986.

Reports said Javellana ordered the plot to kill Castrojas .

Javellana , however, denied the allegation saying it (plot to kill Catrojas ) did not ever come up his mind although he was very hurt with the judge's verdict.

Perez, who is in Manila at press time, said she had already ordered provincial administrator Jun Untaran to investigate the matter.

She said whoever is responsible for letting Idemne go out of the rehabilitation center would be held responsible.

The governor added that she already instructed provincial warden Berly Oteda to facilitate the transfer of the Javier murder convicts to the National Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa .

She said the convicts could have been shipped to Muntinlupa already late last year if not for the request of Javellana and Hortillano for medical check up.

Interviewed by Bombo Radyo Iloilo, Oteda denied that Idemne was able to sneak out of the rehabilitation center sometime in December.

The provincial warden said it could not happen since Idemne is tightly guarded.

He even challenged the informants to prove where and when Idemne was seen .

Pototan Mayor Pablo Perez reportedly confirmed that Idemne went to the house of Councilor Fraulin “ Palpal ” Cordero in December 23, 2004 .

Perez reportedly was told that Idemne was there to ask for a share from Cordero's winning purse in a cockfight.

Intelligence reports say, after going to Pototan Idemne went to Mandurriao and Lapuz to look for a triggerman to kill Castrojas .

Earlier, Castrojas confirmed that there are really threats on his life. He, however, did not elaborate.

Perez assured that Castrojas would be given all the protection he needs.
