Aliño leaves PRO-6 with ‘good record'

Police Regional Office (PRO-6) director Chief Supt. George L. Aliño retires from service today, February 22, leaving Camp Martin Delgado as the highest-ranking performer of police force in the country.
“The PRO-6 rated No. 1 in implementing the CARE (Courtesy, Action, Result, Example) program of the PNP Chief,” Aliño stressed, adding that Western Visayas people are supportive of the campaign against lawless elements, criminalities and insurgents.
Citing this accomplishment, Aliño commended the help of the community, public officials, church leaders and the media.
He noted that members of the press here are fearless but fair and balanced on their reporting.
Aliño exercised his command as PRO-6 head from December 1, 2003 to February 21, 2005 . A graduate of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Masigasig Class '72, he had been in the service for 37 years.
He said he will leave to the regional headquarter a “legacy project,” the P15-million Camp Delgado administrative building. The project was approved during the term of former PNP chief Gen Hermogenes Ebdane and continued under Gen. Edgar Aglipay .
Aglipay will be presiding the turn-over ceremony after the blessing of the newly-constructed building. The event will be conducted at 10 a.m. with expected guests including the region's political leaders and church officials.
With Aliño's retirement, the PRO-6 will then be headed by Supt. Doroteo A. Reyes II. He is the former chief of national PNP Legal Service, director for Research and Development, and director for Investigative and Detective Management.
