The inseparable 'twins'

The inseparable twins have gone public after a brief period of silence since their departure from the capitol. They filled the air lanes of vindictiveness attacking the person of Gov. Niel D. Tupas without mercy. They made threats to drop series of explosives in the coming days more damaging than that of the New York 9/11 terrorist attacks that could ruin his kingdom forever.

Judging from their frothing mouths, they seem pretty sure Tupas will find self in the darkest portion of a calaboose for reasons only the twins would ever know. They swore to their forebear's graves to divulge Pandora's Box at the proper time, proper place and perhaps the proper price as this serves their ultimate ammunitions to pin down a former ally.

They wanted to make good their threats by spreading inconceivable lies against the old man, every minute, every hour, every day… The duo has been a firm believer of an old adage: “lies constantly told become a gospel of truth.” So, be it.

Yet, at the same time confessed, they broke their silence out of patriotism. Ouch, tell that to the marines.

How strange, really, really strange. Why only now?

Once upon a time the inseparable twins have been singing hosannas and halleluiahs praising the governor to high heavens. They look at him, more sacred than the Lord of the Rings. He was not only an over-protective father but also a generous companion to their needs. The blessings come abundantly without sweat for not doing productive and beneficial worth their face value. They were served in a silver platter but they wanted more out of greed.

When the governor has been brutally criticized by members of the media for hiring them as his consultants in his stable, he defended them not minding his own political interest

One day one of the twins unashamedly approached the governor to ask for some consideration.   Sensing the wickedness of the consideration asked for Tupas gave him a big no with decisiveness while looking at him sternly straight in the eye.

Like a suitor scorned by a lover, he left teary eyed, head stooped while murmuring silently in disgust. Series of unfortunate events came one after the other as his other requests were similarly turned down. The governor in all honesty refused to give in (not even for friendship sake) as this could jeopardize the provincial government's program for transparency and accountability, not to mention the act of treason.

Eventually, he tendered irrevocable resignation citing poor health as his reason. Lately however, he reappeared in grandstanding manner as he cooked up something devilish apparently to put the governor in hot water.  

Meanwhile, the other twin would once oppose the legal opinion favoring the appointment of one of the governor's most trusted men to hold the position of a provincial administrator.

In a swift treacherous-like manner, he would make his own legal interpretation if only to block the said vacant position. As everybody knows his hatred towards this favored gentleman is unfathomable.

He feels insecure when the governor appears to trust more his executive assistant concerning almost all aspects of governance. In fairness, the executive assistant is a no-nonsense trouble shooter and can deliver instantly the goods without fail. In short he is an action man. Articulate. He is always around when the governor needed him most.

Other than this, the man has an eye of an eagle; he sees and smells, incoming dangers approaching the capitol and could swiftly prevent its occurrence before it can cause further harms and unwanted damages.

He hates the instinctive ability of the provincial administrator, worse he feels no longer a part of the governor's inner circle.

Eventually, his fear was strongly confirmed when he was sacked as chairman of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) which could have led to his irrevocable resignation from the provincial government. Perhaps, it was a big insult to his pride.

As Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) however, he should have focus mainly on legal matters instead on the procurement of goods intended for the provincial government requirements. He is very much aware of this technicality from the bottom of his heart after all he is a lawyer. He definitely cannot serve two masters at the same time, or else he maybe loyal to one, but despise the other, so to speak. This, is, the real score.

Until this day, however, I could not exactly comprehend why the loss of BAC chairmanship was significantly a big deal to him? It puzzles me no end. Will the legitimate capitol suppliers come forward and give me a reply? Please…

The notions that the inseparable twins resigned as they can no longer stomach the alleged on-going corruption in the capitol is an ultimate act of deception and not out of patriotism.

They left simply because their hands were caught somewhere inside a cookie jar.
