The Secret

 When I was in Bacolod City for five days to attend a seminar I stayed with a cousin. He and his wife have a beautiful and comfortable house in a subdivision somewhere in Tangub . They have four kids, two pretty girls and two handsome boys ( ang pangit sa pamilya nilulunod hehehe ). I have not seen my cousin for years, I can't even remember the last time. But we are both sure that we used to be really close and up until now we still are. One day during my stay there, my wife's cousin asked me, "How is it that you are always so happy? You have so much energy, and you never seem to get down."   With my eyes smiling, I said to her, "I know the Secret!" "What secret is that?" To which I replied, "I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others." "The Secret is this: I have learned there is little I can do in my life that will make me truly happy. I must depend on God to make me happy and to meet my needs. When a need arises in my life, I have to trust God to supply according to HIS riches. I have learned most of the time I don't need half of what I think I do. He has never let me down. Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy." Every time I pray to Him He has never failed to answer it. It doesn't even have to be the exact answer to my prayer but He never fails to do so.

My cousin's wife first thought was, "That's too simple!" But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but it didn't! She thought several business ventures would make her happy, but it hadn't . When did she realize her greatest happiness? Spending more time with her children, talking to them, teaching them good values that she also had learned from her parents, playing computer games with her kids and counting her blessings everyday, a simple gift from God.

I have always known that being happy is relative. We can choose to be happy or we don't ! For some, they believe that money can make them happy. Will it really? Of course, it is not to say that we don't need money to be able to survive in this worldly world. Having money is a way for us to be happy, indeed it is but you see, we only need so much. If we have more of it, it would be nice to share it with others. There are those who find happiness in a boy-girl relationship. Yes again, it brings 7 th heaven happiness. But what if it doesn't work? I can say a million ways to be happy but it is all-temporary, and it will be just a transitory phase. My Secret to be happy is more lasting and rewarding.

Now you know it too! We can't depend on people and things to make us happy. Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that. Trust HIM! And now I pass the Secret on to you! So once you get it, what will you do?   YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too! That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU! But it's not really a secret... We just have to believe it and do it... Really trust God!

Have you ever been just sitting there and all of a sudden you feel like doing something nice for someone you care for? THAT'S GOD talking to you through the Holy Spirit. Have you ever been down and out and nobody seems to be around for you to talk to ? THAT'S GOD wanting you to talk to Him. Have you ever been thinking about somebody that you haven't seen in a long time and then next thing you know you see them or receive a phone call from them? THAT'S GOD. There is no such thing as coincidence. Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you needed, but couldn't afford? THAT'S GOD knowing the desires of your heart. Have you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how it was going to get better, how the hurting would stop, how the pain would ease, but now you look back on it… THAT'S GOD passing us through tribulation to see a brighter day. Do you think that this article was accidentally written for you to read? NO! I was thinking of you! Please share the Power of God. In all that we do, we should totally give thanks and our blessings will continue to multiply. Keep sharing your blessings, you have no idea which one of your friends could use a little hope today.
