Iloilo Business Hotel receipient of Gideon Bibles

Go ye unto the world and preach the gospel, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

That is exactly what the Gideons are doing all over the world distributing Bibles free to people who have not known Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Redeemer. As of December 2004, about 1.2 billion Bibles were distributed to hotels, motels, schools, jails, nursing schools, government offices, clinics, hospitals, police and army camps, inter-island vessel's offices, etc.

Last Saturday, April 9, at about 9:00 a.m., Gideons and Auxilliaries trooped to the new and fabulous Iloilo Business Hotel at Kimwa Complex, Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, and placed Bibles at the 58 rooms and gave 55 small scriptures to hotel staff and personnel. The new and well furnished hotel is under the proprietorship of Mr. Joselito Y. Luwa and his Executive Assistant and Operations Manager Dr. Emilio R. Salcedo, a well-known surgeon. The hotel is situated in a cool and tranquil atmosphere amidst mushrooming buildings and flashing multi-colored lights beaming elegantly in the evening horizon. At sunrise and not far away from the hotel are fishponds and saltbeds beaming with fishes and crustaceans. Yes, indeed, the latest hotel in town designed by genius architects and built by 21 st century engineers is ideal for tourists, businessmen, executives, foreigners and even local residents who desire to be away from home for a respite and dullish homelife of the fast changing society.

Gideons who assisted in the distribution of Bibles early Saturday morning were Gideon Iloilo City Camp Prexy Atty. Apollo Sayo, Past Presidents Ike Altis, Roddy Gumabong, Doc Christopher Rey De Guzman, Past Auxiliary President Doc Annabelle De Guzman, incumbent Prexy Nellie Obligacion and her adorable members Eva Gumabong, Ruby Yap, and Rizalina Gabay. Gideon Ismael Tañacao, Jesus Donasco, Delano Castronuevo and Fidel Yap.

Dr. Emil Salcedo, the hotel's accommodating Executive Assistant and Operations Manager, warmly received the Gideons and Auxiliaries and treated them to a sumptuous breakfast. All hotels and some motels in Iloilo City were recipients of Gideon's Bibles. Whenever the scriptures are brought home by the hotel clients, the Gideon replaces them. Reading the Bible is a must for Christians and newly won souls for Christ who are willing to know God's word and their salvation for eternal life. Praise God for Gideon's and Auxiliaries who preach the word of God through the distribution of the Bibles, free!
