Unusual ChannelLessons and realizations
When I wake up everyday, I should d ecide to have a good day and to be biblical about it, I should remember to tell myself, "This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." I should start the day with a cheerful disposition no matter what. Despite not knowing what the day will bring, it is still my decision to wake up and make each day a happy event. I have often been asked how I start my day and, if dressing up to the nines is one of them, of course, it is. But not really dressing up to the nines or so to speak. For me, the best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve my looks. Remember, "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." I have learned also to say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking, "He who guards his lips guards his soul." I have learned to keep silent when others say more than what is needed to be said. That when I have nothing better to say I better “shut up”! That when another person wants to speak, I should just listen and wait for my turn to speak. I have realized that I should “stand up” for what I believe in because if I don't stand up for something I will fall for anything, "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." I will have to remember to look up to the Lord always for I can only be strong if the Lord is with me because I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. In my daily struggles and trying times I should reach out for something higher and, that is, to trust the Lord with all my heart. I shouldn't intellectualize anything that comes my way instead, I should be more sensitive to what others may be feeling. With what is happening to me, may it be good or bad, I should always be ready and willing to lift up all my burdens to the Lord for only He can lighten the load I am carrying. Lastly, I should always be ready with a prayer that should enlighten me and help me to overcome difficult situations. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." |
