Hostaged

I took a cup of brewed coffee in a restaurant of a local hotel while waiting for a   party   who is arriving   from  Manila.  I checked my watch and I think it's about time I call the airport if the plane has landed.

Meanwhile, I  asked for   a glass of water from the waiter.  “I am sorry, sir, we do not serve tap water.  We only have bottled mineral water.”

Okay, bottled water then.

“It cost P30,00,  sir,” he said. 

All I needed was to drink a glass of water! Why will you give me one bottle of mineral water and let me  pay P30.00?

“Well, I said we  have no tap water available, sir.”

I did not want to argue further.  I am thirsty.  I paid P30.00 and grabbed the bottled water.

Afterwards, I  approached the front desk and  asked:  Can I use your phone? 

“Yes, you please  buy a touch card.   It's  P100.00,” the  clerk explained.

But I just wish to make a short local telephone call.  Why should I buy a card for  P100.00?

“Well, we have no outside  line unless you use a touch card,”  came his reply!
