Singapore Polytechnic student receives recognition from the Municipality of Concepcion

Mr. Kelvin recieves plaque of commendation from Mayor Raul N. Banias

Mr. Kelvin Keegan Chong Yeow Wei, student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) receives commendation of loyalty community service from the Municipality of Concepcion during the recent Ceremonial Switch-On and Project Turnover of SP Overseas Community Service Project to GK Immaculate Conception Village.

Kelvin demonstrated his loyalty and real community service and concern to the People of Concepcion, Iloilo through his 3 times participation in establishing projects at the municipality. He was a delegate of the first batch of SP youth expedition team who brought the Establishment of a Children's Playground at Brgy. Loong on November 29, 2003. The second expedition he joined was May 28, 2004, which brought the Construction of One-Unit GK Immaculate Conception Village House. His affection to help uplift the lives of Concepcionanons never ends. Recently, his participation on the expedition brought the Electrification of 20 GK Immaculate Conception Village together with the Street Lighting of the newly opened Singapore-Polytechnic Friendship Road, which unites the GK village to SEA-K village of the same Barangay.

The Municipality given support by the Sangguniang Bayan under the Resolution No. 2005-48 recognizes these loyalty community services of Mr. Kelvin. He further inspires youth of today to be more sensitive of the needs of other unfortunate people. Instead of having expensive vacation, Kelvin prefers to join the expedition not just to please somebody else but also to give hope to the poor people of Concepcion.

The multiple participation of Mr. Kelvin to the expedition increases awareness to all in giving importance to the world brotherhood and strengthened togetherness among neighboring countries. May his story be an inspiration to many. Jan,MIO-D
