Kudos to pro-environment mediamen

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) must ensure that the workers are given their fair compensation amid the spiraling cost of standard of living nowadays. If the workers will be cheated, the working class will starve and they will think of other drastic means to seek redress of their grievances.

We all know what happened to France after the revolution. We all know what happened to King Louis XVI and Mary Antonette and the “Reign of Terror.” I love my country and my family and I don't want this sad episode to happen here. God forbid.

The Commission on Audit (COA) opinion that the provincial government failed to control the list of people who reguarly joined the conferences and other undertakings in the Capitol and thus, it failed to include them in the list of those who partook the meals, was mistaken by some malicious characters to be a court decision that convicted the provincial treasurer and the governor.

The COA report merely stated the facts and all the provincial government needs to do is explain why the amount of meals reached that staggering amount. So what's the big deal, folks?

Ironically, those who used the issue to again lambast occupants of the Capitol, especially Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr., were themselves regular visitors of Capitol who also benefitted from the meals served by the good host during conferences and special occasions.

Sagad sila kakak nga kakak pero sila man ang mabakas mag lamon sang pagkaon nga gina serve during the gatherings. Where is the delicadeza of these cretins?

PRO-ENVIRONMENT PRESS. It is good that some members of media have picked up the cudgels for the river bank in Dungon, Jaro threatened to be polluted by a firm which has clandestinely ravaged it for commercial purposes.

The media people who bravely exposed it deserved to be commended by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, the Iloilo Business Clubs, and other civic-minded clubs.

I salute the pro-environment journalists both from the print and broadcast media.

ANTI-EDUCATION. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) fooled us poor parents and tax payers.

It promised the people it will not impose or apporve the tuition fee increase being sought by rapacious colleges and universities. But the reality is, 24 colleges and universities in Western Visayas have increased their tuition and other fees and the CHED was a party to this grand treachery at the expense of poor parents and working students.

Now that their skullduggery has been exposed, CHED officials should resign and apologize to the public.

Some of them are anti-poor, anti-students, anti-education. If not, they would have opposed the atrocious tuition fee increases. This is too much already. The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. This is a bad sign for a democratic society. Asta ang plete sa jeep nagsaka naman. Ang sardinas kag mantika nga gabulig tani solbar sa gutom kay within the reach lang of the common tao, nag saka naman. Yu@#*&!a nga pangabuhi ni!
