Subic Casino

When we visited Subic during the first week of May, 2005, we stayed in a hotel along the beach near the boardwalk.  We were attracted in the early evening by dances and live music in front of the building across the street.  When we went to see, we found out that it is the opening of a new casino.  Since entrance was free, we came in curious what have they got to offer.

They inspect people and their belongings when you get into the casino.  All cameras or cellphone-cameras are left with the security guard at the entrance.  We suppose that this is a precaution that you do not take pictures of high government officials or military men or their friends and relations on the gaming tables.

However, we observed that most of the guests on the gaming tables that were there on opening night were chinky-eyed foreigners (maybe Chinese or Koreans).  We thought we saw two or three caucasians in the crowd, but we did not seem to notice any Filipinos in the card games.  The three lady locals that we saw were on the slot machines.

We had to try the slot machines ourselves just to to repay the courtesy of being allowed to get in.  Oh, the machines would no longer accept P100.00 paper bills.  Minimum denomination that can be fed into it is P500.00.

We and our curiousity.  In no time we lost our P500.00!
