Trenas to attend joint summit for national unity

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Trenas will attend the joint summit for national unity to be held in Metro Manila on June 11 and 12. The two-day summit will focus on how the various local government units in the country could help the government overcome its fiscal problems. Trenas said details of the summit are being finalized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and other members of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP). President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Vice President Noli de Castro are expected to grace the event that will also be attended by members of the league of governors, municipal mayors, board members, barangay officials and councilors.
