Do you believe that Iloilo is JUETENG free? Why?
RONEL BERNABE
Yes, Iloilo is jueteng free… “daily double” – I doubt!
TIBONG JARDELESA
NO!
MARTIN PANES
No, I been waiting and waiting…
MIKE CHUA
Nope, I don't believe so! Because I know where I can place a bet.
PAUL PESTAÑO
I don't know and I DON'T care, people who bet are stupid!
MICHAEL GORRICETA
I think so. Iloilo is jueteng free. We have other kinds of numbers games but not jueteng.
JUN TILLAFLOR
Yes. I haven't heard or seen someone from the locality betting in jueteng. Lotto na lang.
PEPE ISADA
I don't think so. I asked my maid and she just placed her bet a while ago.
TINGTING CASTELLS
If daily double is Ilonggo for jueteng, it surely is still present in Iloilo.
ENSOY SICAN
Ya! …free!
ERIC SORIANO
We are jueteng to have less traffic, jueteng for better roads, jueteng for a flood free Iloilo.
ATTY. CYRIL REGALADO
Yes. We have our own numbers game – the daily double.
DR. FREDDIE LOPEZ
No. Maybe it's called a different name but illegal numbers game is here to stay.
ERIC DELOS SANTOS
I think so… Because our local government is doing their best for our city to be jueteng free. We Ilonggos must do our share by not supporting this kind of activities.
CHRIS FERNANDEZ
Jueteng free, I guess so. I never heard of it existing in the province, but daily double does.
REY PONSARAN
OF COURSE NOT! Need I say more…?
DR. ED DIAZ
Yes, haven't heard of jueteng in Iloilo for quite sometime now. Siguro la na gid man.
DENNIS HOPILOS
I don't know of any, but I think it's totally free. We all know that protectors are there to protect. If there is… hoping one of them could come to the open so bury that issue once-and-for-all. KATALAKA NA NA!!!
ROBERT FERRER
In the papers they said none… But I heard from the people around that jueteng still exist in their area. Still betting their hard earned money hoping that it will multiply.
BEBOT DABAN
Now? Yes I do believe it's jueteng free, but a little later, hindi na ko sure.
JOEBOY AGRIAM
Whoever said that is a monkey trainer. We have a saying “intua ang amo basi magdamo”. I'm no monkey!
OSCAR NAVA
Do you believe that black is white? If you do then YOU can truly say Iloilo is jueteng free.
ALAN SORIANO
Nope! Jueteng will never be out of every city. It is already a tradition. Since the day I was born, jueteng is existing here and in every town in Panay. No amount of law can stop jueteng, especially if there is a go signal from the highest level of command.
CIRILO CALABIO
I think so because here in Iloilo jueteng's not that evident and I haven't heard that much of it compared to other provinces in the country.
RICHARD ANGELES
Yes. Even during the height of the jueteng scandal, Iloilo as per the expose had a very minimal percentage. Excuse me… Pong! Escalera!
ROMMEL LAGUDA
No, I think they are playing blind and deaf in declaring Iloilo jueteng free. Jueteng is not that easy to eradicate. Tell it to the gambling lords and they'll laugh.
PAMELA AMARILLO
I don't think so…
MICHAEL CALING
What jueteng? Does that word exist in the Filipino and Ilonggo dictionary and psyche?
ELMER PAHELGA
My awareness of its operation in Iloilo is not first hand. But some credible people that I talked to are convinced of its existance. And I believe them more than what the traditional politicians claim.
BOBOT PAMPOLINA, JR.
Jueteng doesn't exist in Iloilo area. What we have are only; DAILY DOUBLE, PULA-PUTI, LUCKY NINE & habitual home based MAHJONG & TONG-ITS.
BOY MUNDO
We should be happy if it is jueteng free. However, I don't think so. Per news account, chief PNP Gen. Lomibao himself said that it is difficult to eradicate jueteng.
CLEMENTE TAN
Iloilo is not jueteng free!
DAVE QUIACHON
Yes, I think jueteng exists here in Iloilo too. Nowadays, life is too hard. I believe that people will resort to this jueteng thing to support their families or to satisfy their daily needs.
BOBBY JARDER
I really don't care about the jueteng thing, as long as I can play mahjong with my socialite friends! Hahaha
CALOY BORJA
Guess so. I no longer see the “coridors” getting bets.
NOEL BINAYAS
Do I believe? Forever? For good? Do I believe when the cat is away the mouse will not play? Or should I trust the police with my life? Should we entrust our future to our politicians? Do I believe Erap can land a manned flight to the sun if he launches it at night? I can't see the moon and stars, therefore I believe they have disappeared.
HERSON CASIDSID
I don't think Iloilo is jueteng free, just like illegal drugs. Sad to say, our enforcement has no political will to stop those illegalities.
JIMMY UY
I think we have that kind of gambling here, we call it Ilonggo “daily double”. In my opinion they have the same kind of gambling. But for me I don't like that kind of gambling.
JAY CERTEZA
It is. Kung may ara dugay na ina guin waragwag sing rrrrr – ratsada, kag tv patrol sa dyes.
MIGUEL CORDOVA
No. A person I know won 12,000 two weeks ago. He bought three piglets with the money he won.
BEBOT ESPINOSA
No! Still existing!
BEN HUR MOBO III
No. With the availability of all forms of gambling around, jueteng could never be far behind.
ALBERTO TUZAN
Yes, but I think it is temporary because the issue is very hot sooner or later it will be back.
VON FERNANDEZ
Iloilo is free from jueteng but not in daily double and first 2 and that is province wide.
DR. JEREMY SAQUIAN
I don't believe. As long as the economy is ailing people tend to engage in jueteng and other forms of gambling. But it is not as rampant compared in Luzon.
DENNIS GARGANERA
I don't think Iloilo is jueteng free. I used to bet in a numbers game called daily double. |
