My Brother-in-law & Other StoriesA happy familyWe heard mass one early morning last week and we liked the priest's explanation of the gospel of the day, interpreting the true meaning of peace and happiness in the home. He told us the story of how two husbands kept their families happy. His first story was that of a husband who follows everything that his wife was asking him to do. If she asked him to take her to a movie, he would take her to the movie; if she asked him to take her and the children to the beach, he would take them to the beach; if she asked him to take her to go shopping, they would go shopping. In other words, everything that his wife asked him to do, he would do it for her . On the other hand, the second husband was telling his story that he kept his wife happy by doing every thing that his wife does not like to do . His wife does not like to wash the laundry, so he does the washing; she does not like to cook, so he does the cooking; she does not like to wake up in the middle of the night to feed the baby, so he does the feeding. In other words, all that his wife does not like to do, he would do it for her. Both husbands have happy families! |
