Dr. Jaime Gison
Yes, seen and exposed to few cases before when I was a resident took rifampicin too. Personal and environmental hygiene is just needed.
Dr. Vic Souribio
Yes, because the mortality is high.
Jake Alojepan ,medical student
If such time comes to which I hope not the doctors will have problems on where they would isolate the patient and people do not want to be put on isolation because they think that it is a violation of there rights.
Dr. Ramon Zarceno
Yes, government and private doctors should work together to intensify health education, specific protection, early diagnosis and prompt treatment.
Dr. Demy Tidon
Of course not, since when are we prepared for anything in this city?
Dr. Percy Catedrilla
Good clinicians make good clinical judgement I guess not so many ways our medical experts are competent enough to consult meningo cases her in Iloilo.
Dra. Jocelyn Te
Yes, early detection for early management to avoid spread of infection thru awareness of symptoms thru media you can help in your newsletter. And the specialist too.
Dr. Kristin Trenas
Yes! But there needs to be early detection. The two cases I managed as a resident came in already shocky!
Dr. Belle Jayme
Iloilo has many well-trained and intelligent doctors who could handle any infectious conditions. Meningoccemia is easily treatable and preventable anyway.
Dr. Therese Robles
First of all, there is no established fact of the presence of 'meningo' at present. Test of alleged shows negative result. But yes, the doctors here are capable of treating if diagnosed correctly.
Dr. Tess Laminero
The medical experts cannot protect the city from 'meningo' but they can adequatley treat cases especially if there is early medical intervention. “An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”
Dr. Freddie Lopez
Difficult but possible. Medication can be given to highly suspected cases or persons exposed to confirmed meningoccemia. But confirmation is difficult. Have to have posotive smears of skin lesions or a positive culture.
Dr. Diane Javellana-Cacho
In terms of expertise, Iloilo is not lacking in infectons disease specialists who are very capable of expertly managing meningoccemia.
Dr. Cesar Uy
Of course.
Dr. Peewee Aguirre
Meningoccemia is encountered in the city as sporadic cases every year. The city has infectious specialists who are capable in treating the disease especially if they are seen early. Problems arise when the number of cases become epidemic in proportion. Then it would be the job of the epidemiologist from DOH to pinpoin the source and control it.
Dr. Debbie Layson
Yes and we're in a good position to be able to deal with it once confronted.
Dr. Annabelle de Guzman
We have vaccines to protect people. We can also educate them. As for the facilities, hospitals have full house rooms at all times.
Dr. Maria Luisa Kanapi
Yes, I think so because we're knowledgeable of the disease. Although meningoccemia is not so common an infectious disease, if diagnosed early a patient can be treated and lead to full recovery. There should be the awareness of the medical practitioners of the presence of the disease that's why prophylaxis should be given to all who came in contact with the patient to prevent its spread.
Dr. Tonette Saquian
Of course, that's why they are called experts.
Dr. Arlene Ardena Bongosia
Yes. We have knowledgeable docs with experience to treat meningoccemia. The dose is not uncommon.
Dr. Cynthia Demaisip
Yes because we've had sporadic cases of meningoccemia before who were treated and got well.
