Kris gets back at Sec. Raul
By Erly C. Garcia
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, Sr. got a beating from the hosts of television show “The Buzz” Sunday for his statements against former Pres. Corazon Aquino recently.
Aquino's daughter, Kris, is one of the hosts of the said television show aired over ABS-CBN network.
With tears flowing in her eyes, Kris despised Gonzalez for hurting her mother who has nothing to with her own life.
“Sino po kayo para husgahan ang naging buhay ko; sino po kayo para saktan ang mommy ko dahil sa pagkakasala ko,” Kris said.
Kris disclosed that her mother was deeply affected by the pronouncement of Gonzalez against their private life.
She said what the Justice Secretary said was uncalled for considering that he represents an office that says “every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
Kris was supported by her fellow hosts Boy Abunda and Cristy Fermin who each gave their piece against Gonzalez.
Last week in an interview with the media Gonzales called on Mrs. Aquino to mind the actress' affairs after the former president called on President Arroyo to "make the supreme sacrifice of resigning" amid allegations of cheating in the 2004 elections.
Asked of his reaction about Kris' statement by Aksyon Radyo Monday, Gonzalez said that he is asking apology from the Aquinos if he has hurt their feelings with what he said although he clarified that he has nothing personal when he said that statement.
He even insists that showbiz writers merely play up the issue.
Meanwhile, Gonzalez's statement incurred negative reactions from other prominent politicians like former senator Rene Saguisag and Senator Nene Pimentel.
They said Gonzalez's statement was unfit he being the secretary of the Department of Justice.
To note, Gonzalez was also previously criticized for his negative statements against Susan Roces widow of presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr.
Reportedly, Gonzalez would be relieved of his post because of his negative remarks against former president Aquino.
Gonzalez for his part said he stays in the Cabinet at the pleasure of the president.
