UPV at 58: What's our Quiddity?
University in the Philippines Visayas marks its 58 th Foundation day this July 18 – 23 with the theme: “UPV @ 58: What's Our Quiddity?” Quiddity which means, essence, core, heart or spirit is reflected in UPV's identity manifested in its endeavors. The event opened last July 18, 8:30 AM at the UPV Iloilo City Auditorium dubbed, ‘Discovering the Essence of Being”. It was followed by the institutional exhibit and pre-investiture of President Emerlinda R. Roman, the first female president .
Included in the exhibit are the UPV books and publications of various UP doctors and professors. New products and technology developed at UPV are also displayed. The week-long celebration has various activities for UP constituents and non- constituents. Activities are as follows: Ingress (July 18, 830am) at UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City. Also of the same day at 2pm is the Institutional Exhibits & Pre-Investiture Exhibit of the President at SM City Iloilo. Public Lecture-Forum, July 19, 9am UPV Auditorium IC, and the recognition and awards program at 2pm. July 20 events are the dedication rites of the UPV Gender and Development Program office, the Anti-sexual Harassment office and the Balay-Balay Child Minding Center (9am UPV-Ilo Audi), Pasundayag 2005 Goes Hip, (2pm UPV Miag-ao Covered Court) and Memories of September Affair with Totong Villaruz and His Band (7pm UPV-ILO Audi). July 21 is UP's President Emerlinda R. Roman Investiture Lectures (9am-30m, UPV-Ilo & Miag-ao Campuses) and the cultural presentation of O'Layra (3pm and 7pm, UPV-Ilo Audi). Student's Day on July 22 at UPV Miag-ao and the Alumni Day follows on July 23 at UPV Iloilo. |
