The governor is in control
Who is this bloated clown spreading words that soon Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr., will get suspended for three months, courtesy of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo? Allegedly, his modus operandi is to utilize a number of employees known to be antagonistic and perceived to be out of grace with the present occupant of the Capitol.
I must admit I'm still for GMA to remain in power, but getting rid of the governor due to political vendetta is a big no, no!
When will this bloated clown cease his obsession to become governor? I mean it is his right or anybody's right to aspire for the position but one should paddle his own canoe. He should outright stop his malicious whispering to the president to unseat the governor who has been performing his duty efficiently since assumption.
Tupas has been continuously persecuted left and right since he joined Senate President Franklin Drilon's immediate call to oust GMA from presidency.
Ironically, the turn of events took place a week after both publicly announced their solid support to the beleaguered president caused by the “Hello Garci” tape expose,' and the alleged ‘jueteng' involvement of her husband, son and brother-in-law.
I fully respect the decision of Gov. Tupas to jump ship in haste but this with a valid reason. Painful as it was for him to abandon GMA at the time he was needed most but being a party man he was compelled to stick it out with his party; a party which had been supportive of him since time immemorial.
Besides, there is no reason for him to change heart, nor stab his benefactor Sen. Franklin Drilon at the back; unlike other politicians who would eat their principles upon sighting a pot of gold from a distance.
Lately, the act of jumping from one party to another for political convenience becomes a fad for those whose only interest is to satisfy their insatiable appetite for power and money. Who says then, these animals join politics to serve the public interests? That's completely a rotten fallacy. With the exception of a few perhaps, but we can count them in our fingers. Nevertheless, we still have to correct this notion and the earlier the better for us to realize this.
In the future we should keenly choose the right leaders for us to govern. The money they give to bribe us must be kept in the pocket (after all it is ours), but the conscience that guide us to identify the wicked from good must prevail.
It reminds me of a former board member who at the height of her anger after being confronted by an accountant due to a discrepancy uncovered in her catering purchase order, blurted-out: “Sin-o lang bala diri ang indi kawatan sa aton, haw?!” (Who isn't a thief among us anyway?).
See? I told you these animals join politics not out of compassion to serve the public, but it is their quickest and easiest way to make them rich. It is so easy to identify them. Try visiting the countryside and chances are one might be stunned by the sight of the mansions mysteriously sprouting along the highways in so short span in their incumbency.
Yet these mammals have the nerves to accuse Gov. Tupas a thief.
Never, in the annals of the provincial treasury a surplus of more than P38M has been incurred year after year; even at the time of my favorite then governor, Cong. Arthur Defensor.
Logic dictates this could not possibly crop up would the person managing the Capitol is a crook; in essence it defies their own argument.
Obviously, Gov. Tupas' effective management is another man's misery, as it clearly threshes out the chaffs from the grains.
No wonder the recent earthquake drill conducted by Acting-chief Jerry Bionat of the Office of Community Affairs as per directive from the Office of the Governor has been accepted with a negative feedback from someone with a crab mentality. That drill could have saved hundreds of lives of employees and properties of the provincial government in anticipation of natural or man-made calamities, so what the heck?
Oh, my, when will they ever stop maligning the good name of the governor?
From the Airport Development Project Program in Cabatuan-Sta. Barbara up to the construction of the new Iloilo Rehabilitation Center in Pototan, malicious innuendos are inflected without mercy by these so-called vanguards (defined: barkers) of truth and morality. There have been constant development shaping before their very eyes, yet it is still unacceptable in their norms. Why they extremely find it hard to appreciate the achievements of this administration is beyond me.
At the end of the day however, the only thing that matters most is, the governor is in complete control… nothing less, nothing more.
