This woman has 'balls'

The opposition's dirty tricks aimed to topple down Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had boomeranged back to them. I wouldn't be surprised then if GMA would eventually finish her term which she herself courageously confirms to stay put until 2010 amidst the political turmoil besetting her administration.

The president's “lapse in judgment” pales in comparison to the wicked intentions her political enemies and other self proclaimed patriots are engaged with.

Various personalities exploited by the opposition to destroy GMA and the immediate members of her family are themselves of questionable characters.

Take the case of a certain Sandra Cam, she seems to enjoy every single minute of the accolades the media has given her. Every time she emotes in front of the flashing cameras she evidently reveals her real self -- a cunning “witness-for-hire” with a mouthful of vindictiveness against GMA and the First Family.

For a while I thought it was Virgin Mary who descended from heaven dressed in Madonna attire, rebuking the sinner Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and turning this God forsaken country into Holy Land.

She would resort to different acting style sans depth necessary to sway the fickle-minded mob particularly in imperial Manila. Sometimes you would catch her crying while narrating her life and that of her family are in danger as a result of being patriotic. Yet, she doesn't appear being harassed nor intimidated, on the contrary she is even bold, vulgar and provoking.

On the next moment, however, you'll see her laughing, mocking around, spending moments lavishly with the opposition who gave her false hope as long as she stands firm on tearing down GMA in exchange perhaps of fame and fortune.

Once she committed a blunder. Her son's failure to come home prodded her to get the attention of the media, instead of reporting straight to the authorities to book a lost person; only to realize the son just spent the night with a friend. Worst, her son has been reported by the school authorities no longer attending regular classes since the start of the opening for some unknown reasons.

What does this imply? Miss Cam's habit of right away suspecting the government of her misery in life is likewise a reflection of her mediocrity as a witness. Bluntly speaking she is a phony from the strand of her hair down to the tip of her toes!

Next, a certain Michael Zuce described as a “dambuhalang manggagantso” (great swindler) by a former mayor who unmasked him in a Senate investigation was a mouthful of truth and laughter. His (the mayor) narrative style exposing the person of Zuce elicited laughter from the crowd who attended the Senate hearing. Zuce according to him was a glib talker who could even convince the dead to rise from the grave.

The bloated man concerned has been making faces, obviously an act of defense mechanism, nevertheless, refrained by his handlers beside him to stop his antics as he is being observed by the public. It was too late, however, for Zuce to back out since he will become a laughing stock which could be very damaging on the part of the of his handlers.

Meanwhile, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago a week after GMA delivered her SONA advised the president to prepare for the worst. That the coming five months would be a hellish period in her presidency. That her political enemies will do everything in the book to pressure her to resign; create a spurious scenario that the country is in a big slumber and soon turn into the inconceivable Dante's Inferno.

I don't think La Gloria would give in to their terroristic approach nor serve to them the presidency in a silver-platter. The president has already proven many times that she is no push-over. Haven't anyone noticed, that there is a Marcos, Cory, FVR and Estrada rolled into one in her? She possesses the qualities of her predecessors and this makes her a unique kind of her own leader.

For the oppositionists still aspiring to see La Gloria kept in a calaboose and suffer the same fate that of a former hoodlum president, you are all hallucinating. As I said, and will say this again for the last time, the president is in control.

Mind you, you can never beat this woman. This may touch your ego but there is a time for the male chauvinists like us to give in, surrender for the sake of our nation. Enough has been written, enough has been said and done. Enough is enough!

You may call all the saints and demons from the beyond but definitely, this will not compel La Gloria to take a different path evading her responsibilities in facing the music squarely.

My, this woman has “balls!”
