2005 Most Citizen-Friendly Police Stations awardedThe National Police Commission and Philippine National Police Regional Office 6 awarded the winners of the Search for the Most Citizen-Friendly Police Stations for 2005 during the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Meeting held at the Police Regional Office 6, Camp Delgado recently. The Search was conducted as part of the celebration of Police Community Relations Month in Western Visayas last July. The award was given to police stations in recognition of the collaborative efforts exerted by policemen to reach or serve the community beyond the bounds of their sworn duties, as well as encourage policemen to support each other not only to fulfill the needs of their station but also to be more concerned of the needs of the people to whom they are accountable. It was also designed to motivate and inspire policemen to continuously improve their image as law enforcers as well as to highlight exemplary and excellent performance of policemen in service delivery. The Criteria for Judging were as follows: Relationship with the Community, 30%; Services rendered beyond the Call of Duty, 30%; Involvement in Community Projects and Activities, 25%; and Concern for the Environment, 15%. The awardees for the Municipal Category are: First place – Kalibo Police Station of Aklan which received 3,000 pesos and Certificate of Recognition; 2 nd place – Cabatuan Police Station of Iloilo which received 2,000 pesos and certificate of recognition; 3 rd Place – Ivisan Police Station of Capiz which received 1,000 pesos and certificate of recognition; and 4 th place – Pandan Police Station of Antique which received a certificate of recognition. The awardees for the City Category are First place – Escalante City Police Station of Negros Occidental which received 3,000 pesos and Certificate of Recognition; 2 nd place – Police Precinct 2 La Paz Police Station of Iloilo City which received 2,000 pesos and certificate of recognition; 3 rd Place – Bago City Police Station of Negros Occidental which received 1,000 pesos and certificate of recognition; and 4 th place – Police Precinct 5 of Bacolod City which received a certificate of recognition. Paredes Chairperson of the Regional Awards Committee distributed the awards during the RPOC meeting together with Guimaras Governor JC Rahman Nava, RPOC Chairman, Governor Salvacion Perez and PNP 6 Regional Director Doroteo Reyes.
