DTI-Iloilo observes Consumer Welfare Month
The month of October is observed yearly as Consumer Welfare Month. This is consistent with the policy of the government to protect the interest of the consumer and promote his general welfare and to underscore the role the consumers play in the vitality of the economy.
To celebrate this event, the Department of Trade and Industry-Iloilo is holding a series of activities intended to disseminate sound consumer information on subjects such as complaints and policies affecting the consumer. The same activities will also heighten consumer awareness on the different programs and policies of the government that seek to protect the consuming public against unconscionable sales acts and practices. The following is the schedule of the series of forums:

Proclamation No. 1098, declaring the month of October of every year as Consumer Welfare Month took effect on September 26, 1997. This year’s theme is “Pagkaing Ligtas at Sapat Sa Presyong Abot Kaya” with the Dept. of Agriculture as the lead implementing agency.
