Minor who stabbed elder brother to be absolved
The 17-year old lad who stabbed her elder brother to death will soon be out of jail after his family expressed no intention to file a case against him.
A check at Police Precinct 4 (Molo) showed that the family of Arnel (not his real name) expressed no desire to file a criminal case against the suspect for killing his elder brother Ronald Lee midnight of Monday. The victim sustained 31 fatal stab wounds on the different parts of his body.
The suspect is still detained at the Molo police station waiting for his family to sign a waiver of desistance to make him free. The children's and women's desk monitored the case both the suspect and victim being minors.
The bloody incident happened at their house in Zone 3, San Juan, Molo. The victim was allegedly drunk when he arrived in their house. He then threatened the members of his family with something in his pocket believed to be a hand grenade.
The suspect then asked his parents and the victim to leave their house. This provoked an argument between the suspect and his father Rodolfo. The victim then got a sharpened iron rod and stabbed his father. Rodolfo sustained wounds on his hand.
This prompted the suspect to grab the iron rod and stabbed his brother. The suspect was already in cold blood when his other brother Bruce arrived in the crime scene. Their father brought the victim to the Iloilo Doctors Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. While, the suspect surrendered to the police.
While in detention Arnel said, he seized the iron rod to defend his father. He said his elder brother would always hit them whenever he is drunk. The victim would also sold their household things whenever he wants to. The suspect repented of what he has done to his brother as he had no intention to kill him. He was in tears upon knowing that his brother is already dead.
